Have you ever stopped and pondered this one verse? I have read it many times in my Christian walk was recently struck by the immensity of this one sentence. God holds within His hands all things. This includes all plant, animal, and non-living things.
He is the owner of it all including me. He is the true owner of my possessions, occupation, education, dreams, and life. With this in mind logically it can be deduced that if He owns it all then we could never actually lose anything. We may let go of some things but they were never ours. If we do then we may be considered a poor steward of that which we do not own. For example, I may not use the resources at my disposal for the Glory of God or I may abuse or misuse the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is my body, but we never lose anything. Not even our life. The life given to us is borrowed and to be invested. The time and manner of our departure from this earth is even in the hands of God.Without making a mountain out of a molehill I believe that this is a crucial part of our understanding of God. The propensity of man to think that he “owns” his/her life is a deception that takes us back to the garden. This dramatically affects our life of worship before God. We cannot be effective in our Christian life until we come to full realization that “you are not your own, you were bought with a price”.(1 Cor 6:19-20) All sales in this transaction are final and non-refundable. If you are a child of God then He owns you, and any attempt to take our lives back is an act of thievery against God Almighty. Last I checked stealing is still in the 10 Commandments. So, beloved give up your fight for control in life and let go… you have NOTHING to lose.
